YOU WILL NEED:
- Kunin© Classic™ Felt Craft Cuts 9” by 12”– White, Black, Brilliant Blue, Violet Sky
- Hook and Loop Circular Stickers
- Permanent Marker
- White Chalk Pencil
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- MONSTER POUCH PATTERNS
INSTRUCTIONS:
Download, print and then cut out the MONSTER POUCH PATTERNS with scissors.
Trace the monster mouth patterns onto Kunin© Classic™ Felt Brilliant Blue and Violet Sky with a permanent marker. Let the kiddos select their favorite colors of Kunin© Classic™ Felt for a custom project.
Cut:
Cut out the monster mouth patterns with scissors. The younger kiddos might need some help with the cutting. Let the kiddos create the shape of the monster mouths.
Trace:
Trace the monster teeth and the two largest circles for the monster eyes onto Kunin© Classic™ Felt White with a permanent marker. Trace the two smallest circles for the monster eyes onto Kunin© Classic™ Felt Black with a while chalk pencil.
Cut out all patterns with scissors making sure to cut inside the traced lines for a clean finished project. Using a permanent black marker will prevent the dark ink from smearing across the lighter colored felt. A white chalk pencil is perfect for tracing patterns onto dark colored felt.
Attach the monster teeth to the monster mouth with a glue gun and glue sticks. NOTE: You can also use liquid fabric glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
Fold the bottom straight edge of the Kunin© Classic™ Felt Brilliant Blue and Violet Sky up to create a 4” deep pocket. Secure the right and left side seams with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Glue:
Glue the smaller black felt monster eyes to the larger white felt monster eyes. Mix and match sizes to create a custom monster, or let the kids select the colors of their choice. Attach the eyes to the top of the pouch with a glue gun and glue sticks.
Remove the hook and loop stickers from the package and cut off one set. Fold the backing material in half and attach the hook to the loop. Peel the backing from the loop side and place in the center of the flap of the pouch.
Carefully peel the backing from the hook side and then close the flap. Push firmly on the hook and loop stickers to adhere to both sides of the felt flap. Gently lift the flap to reveal that the hook and loop sticks are perfectly lined up.
